Utica National Group Foundation wanted to help those in need and also infuse some cash into local restaurants to help them weather this storm. So they approached Hope House with an idea. They would give us a grant of $1,000 a day for 5 weeks if we would contract out to various restaurants in our area. The restaurants would supply us with 75 take-out meals each day Monday through Friday, ans we would hand them out at lunch. We quickly realized that we could also do the same on Saturday and even have a few pop-up dinners. The program has been very successful.
